The Manasota Branch of the Association for the Study of African American Life and History (ASALH) is dedicated to promoting, preserving, and disseminating information about Black life, history, and culture in Sarasota and Manatee Counties. Our flagship program, the Freedom School, empowers youth and adults by teaching African American history in an inclusive and engaging environment.
